Offenses of driving without a license, driving under the influence of alcohol or other substances

In Romania, the offense of driving without a license is punishable under Article 335 of the Criminal Code, which stipulates that a person who drives a motor vehicle without a driving license is liable to imprisonment for a term of one to five years. It is also punishable if the person entrusts the vehicle to someone who is not entitled to drive.

In addition, driving a motor vehicle by a person whose license is suspended, revoked, or withdrawn, or whose license is for a category of a motor vehicle other than the motor vehicle driven, may also be an offense.
